TOB Grade 2
Literature-based materials to introduce Theology of the Body to second graders. Set includes St. George and the Dragon. The Quiltmaker’s Gift. And Teacher’s Guide for each. Part of the ROOTED: Theology of the Body K-12 Curriculum.
The elementary school material is literature-based, using richly illustrated stories to engage students in exploring the foundational concepts of Theology of the Body – what it means to be human, how to live as a gift to others, what it means to have heaven as our ultimate destiny. We offer Teacher’s Guides to introduce many hands on activities to embody this discovery for young learners. One second grade boy learning TOB for the first time offered this unsolicited note to his teacher: “The books you read, the words you say, change me.” God is so good.
The two units included in this Grade 2 package include St. George and the Dragon, The Quiltmaker’s Gift and a Teacher’s Guide for each. It represents two to four weeks of teaching per unit – in many cases even more. Generous Lesson Extensions offer the enterprising teacher returns to these themes throughout the year. Designed into the material is your choice of themes to explore including: Original Solitude; Creation is a Gift; Gift of Self and True Happiness; Freedom & Happiness; The Body Reveals the Person; Conscience; Original Unity; and Virtue and Freedom. These stories…these hands on lessons… have staying power for the learning of a lifetime.
