TOB Grade 4
Literature-based materials to bring Theology of the Body to life for fourth graders. Set includes 4 items: Peppe the Lamplighter and Teacher’s Guide. Plus an Original Unity Teacher’s Guide (and materials) for exploring readings from your classroom or family Bible. Part of the ROOTED: Theology of the Body K-12 Curriculum.
The elementary school material is literature-based, using richly illustrated stories to delve deeper into the foundational concepts of Theology of the Body – what it means to be human, how to live as a gift to others, what it means to have heaven as our ultimate destiny. We offer Teacher’s Guides to introduce many hands on activities to embody this discovery for young learners. As part of the Grade 3-5 experience, we enable students a view into the Bible you use and cherish, to establish the tradition of learning personal inspiration from the Word of God.
The two units included in this Grade 4 package include Peppe the Lamplighter and companion Teacher’s Guide, as well as an Original Unity Teacher’s Guide and Timeline/Extra Materials Packet to explore God’s word in the Bible that you already have in your classroom. It represents two to four weeks of teaching per unit – in many cases even more. Generous Lesson Extensions offer the enterprising teacher returns to these themes throughout the year. Themes such as Redemption, Sacramentality of Creation, Suffering, Sin & Transformation and Dignity of Work are all available to explore through discussion and beautiful handcrafts and activities. Grades 3 through 5 together offer an introduction to the three “original experiences” (Original Solitude, Original Unity, Original Nakedness) that Adam and Eve and all of us encounter as human persons – all part of our greater family history.
